Nottinghamshire Cricket Board Under 12s triumphed in the prestigious Ampleforth Festival with victories over Yorkshire Tykes, Bedfordshire and Yorkshire on their way to claiming the title.

Nottinghamshire Cricket Board Under 12s triumphed in the prestigious Ampleforth Festival with victories over Yorkshire Tykes, Bedfordshire and Yorkshire on their way to claiming the title.

An opening stand of 146 between captain Lyndon James (61) and Daniel Andrew (123) established a winning platform against the Tykes in the opening match.

Nottinghamshire then cruised past Bedfordhsire, knocking off the required runs in nine overs without loss having dismissed their opposition for 67.

The side were denied the opportunity to complete a whitewash in their group when rain curtailed their fixture against London Schools who had been reduced to 40-5 after 17 overs.

Yorkshire provided the opposition in the final with solid knocks from Joshua Pavis (25), Paddy Webb (26) and Liam Patterson-White (34*) contributing to a scired of 157-8.

The Nottinghamshire bowling attack restricted their opponents to eight runs in a seven-over spell before lunch and were all out for 119 after Patterson-White returned 4-7.
