Notts Premier League

Caythorpe proved no match at all for rampant leaders Clifton at the Clifton Oval.

On what is normally a batsman's paradise, Caythorpe were skittled out for only 143 as Adam Shepherd and Tom Lungley ran riot.

Only Josh Mierkalns could hold his head up high among the visiting batsmen as he top-scored with 78.

Clifton made short work of their victory target, racing to 144-2 in only 22 overs as Liam Andrews led the way with an unbeaten 47.

Second-placed West Indian Cavaliers kept up the chase at the top and were equally as dominant as they swept aside bottom club Kiveton Park by eight wickets at Birchover Park.

Alex Tudor and Saqlain Mushtaq both took three wickets as Kiveton's batting collapsed to 69 all out and then Mushtaq led the way with the bat finishing unbeaten on 33.

Welbeck had the better of a draw at home to Cuckney.

The home side were all out for 239 in the 50th over with half centuries from Rob French and Guy Darwin.

Cuckney made a good fist of it in reply as they closed on 220-7, with Richard Stroh making 55 to add to his three wickets in the Welbeck innings.

Notts Academy crusied to a seven-wicket victory over Wollaton at Lady Bay after the visitors posted 178-8 in their 50 overs, Anthony Keely falling only eight runs short of his century.

Oli Swann led the Academy reply, hitting an unbeaten 91 as they raced to their target in the 35th over.

Belvoir are yet to register their first win of the season but they're getting closer.

Home side Kimberley made 227-9, thanks in the main to Akhil Patel's 80, while for Belvoir, Sam Cliff turned in an impressive display with 5-62.

Darren Bicknell's 62 – to go with his three wickets – gave Belvoir a fighting chance and he found good support from James Clayfield, but in the end they had to settle for a losing draw and ten points as they closed on 200-8 from their 50 overs.

Third-from-bottom Papplewick are looking anxiously over their shoulders towards the drop zone as they too suffered a losing draw at home to Mansfield Hosiery Mills.

Sudesh Fernando was the star of the show for the visitors as he thumped an unbeaten 124 off only 100 balls, with 13 fours and four sixes in Mansfield's imposing total of 290-5.

He then grabbed three useful wickets but Papplewick held on for the valuable draw, closing on 224-7 as they shared the runs between them, the in-form Alex Lloyd once again leading the way with 48.
