Newark Alliance Cricket

There was 'Khan-age' at Farndon in Division Four of the Newark Alliance, where Alamgir Khan and Ross Carnelly, blazed a massive 300 opening partnership for Plumtree II as they amassed 349-3 to destroy their generous hosts.

Khan plundered 185, while 16-year-old Carnelly scored 108.

In-form skipper Martin Hill (64) proved to be the only barrier to a quick finish as Farndon racked up five ducks on their way to 148 in reply.

A half century from Dan Sullivan helped keep leaders Claypole's unbeaten record this season as they edged out Fastlane Cabs (128) by four wickets to register a sixth win.

A quick-fire rearguard action by Wiseton skipper James Edgeley (72) turned the game on its head at Newark R&M II, who eventually fell just short of the target set in an exciting run chase (183-9).

Nuthall missed their chance to take over at the top in Division Five as they came unstuck at lowly Kegworth Town, who had Gareth Isaac (72) back in form and supported well by Adam Meads (61) to comfortably chase down Nuthall's handy 225.

Risley (226-3) join the co-leaders at the top after an impressive win at Wollaton II. An impressive 109 not out from opener Marc Addison eclipsed the unbeaten 108 from Wollaton's Will Sellwood as Risley ran out winners by seven wickets.

Ex-professional Glenn Morley answered a last-minute selection call-up to help lowly Lambley out of the relegation zone with a match-winning performance against local rivals Lowdham.

His 76 steered the home side to a competitive total and the visitors' run chase was soon floundering.

Big-hitting John Noall briefly threatened to turn a lost cause into an unlikely victory with an explosive 63 from only 30 balls (including 31 in an over).

But when he was brilliantly caught and bowled by Morley (3-16) that was that and Lowdham (198) checked out 33 runs shy.

Eddie George was in great form with the ball in Division Two as his 6-11 got Ellerslie's title bid back on track in a five-wicket win at Oxton (142-8).

Thoresby Colliery remain on top after an easy 112 run win at Notts & Arnold (121) thanks mainly to Daniel Tyson who followed up his 65 with 4-28.

Clumber Park lost their unbeaten record at Gedling Colliery II in Division Three.

Gedling captain Rog Patterson led from the front with 51, assisted by James Barnes (73) and the target of 220 proved too much for former leaders Clumber, despite an unbeaten century from Matt Wheatley.
